Best Work Vans

Best Work Vans

There are a surprising number of options available if you are looking for a work or cargo van. While not as prolific as sedans, SUVs, and trucks, there are many different cargo van models available. While they look similar, there are many different configurations, which allows you to have the van that works best for your type of business, whether it is HVAC, plumbing, construction, or something else entirely.

Ford Transit

The Ford Transit van comes in two options - the Connect (which is smaller and starts around $30,000) and the Commercial (which is larger and starts around $40,000). For businesses that haul a lot of materials, the Commercial is the best because of its max towing capacity of 7,500 pounds and max payload of 4,650 pounds. Redesigned for 2020, the Ford Transit Commercial offers plenty of cargo space in three lengths, three roof heights, and two wheelbases. You can choose what size works best for you for adding racks and bins for safely storing your tools, supplies, equipment, and more.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Quality, experience, and reliability describe the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cargo van. For eight consecutive years, the Sprinter has been the recipient of the Vincentric Best Fleet Value in Canada award. The Sprinter offers true value in two wheelbases, three lengths, and low and high roof heights. You can choose from numerous configurations, including both gas and diesel engines and 4x4 capability while on your way to up to 530 cubic feet of cargo space with 7,500-pound towing capacity and over 4,500-pound payload capacity.

Ram ProMaster

The Ram ProMaster is a front-wheel-drive cargo van that offers best-in-class turning diameter and offers more cargo space between the rear wheel wells. However, front-wheel-drive lowers the maximum towing and payload capacity well below that of the Transit and Sprinter, coming in at 6,800 pounds towing and 4,680 pounds payload, but only on the largest 3500 model. The ProMaster offers three different levels--the 1500, 2500, and 3500.

Chevrolet Express

The Chevrolet Express cargo van comes in two models to provide the size and power you need--the 2500 Express and the 3500 Express. Available in a gas or diesel engine, the Express can handle a max payload of 4,311 pounds and available max towing capacity of up to 10,000 pounds. The van provides you the ability to run your business from the road with a built-in 4G LT Wi-Fi hotspot, a 120-volt AC power outlet, and two auxiliary 12-volt power outlets.

GMC Savana

With a towing capacity up to 10,000 pounds, the GMC Savana Cargo van is designed to keep you moving from job and job, increasing productivity. The swing-out passenger-side door provides easy access for side loading and unloading, increasing parking choices in cities and other tight locations. Available in both a 2500 and 3500 model, the Savana offers a regular and extended wheelbase to maximize your cargo space and extend the max payload (up to 4,096 pounds in the extended 3500 version).

These are just a few of the well-equipped, best-in-class cargo vans available from respected vehicle manufacturers. Driving a work van doesn't have to be a rusty, uncomfortable experience when you choose from one of the models mentioned here. Instead, they can assist you in maintaining a highly successful business, no matter your field of specialization.
